BUDS is the first major competitive event of the BUSC year.
For first timers, it gives an insight into what BUSC events are all about; exceptional entertainments and inspiring competitions for every competitor, regardless of experience.
For Returners, it’s the chance to rekindle old rivalries and strengthen the friendships that emanate from them.

This year’s BUDS will once again be sanctioned by British Universities and Colleges Sport*
BUDS is the only BUSC event held on dry slope, and provides a platform for the large numbers of students who have grown up through the grass roots British system.
An ever exciting freestyle programme and a full race schedule allows for competitors of any level to take part, gaining the honour of representing their university.

The proven base of Hillend, Scotland provides two of the key ingredients for a successful BUDS. The first is access to the longest, steepest dry slope in Britain, and the second is the direct availability of both easy cheap accommodation and Edinburgh’s large volume venues for music events and prize giving.

This year’s events crew are lining up some great acts and have now confirmed City Club as the venue for Friday night.

The BUDS ball on the Saturday night is returning to Murrayfield after a 3 year absence away since the infamous 2007 ball...

*From Monday 16 June 2008, British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) and University College Sport (UCS) merged and became British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS).
